Jeanne D. Waggener, R. Ph., is the Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager for Wal-Mart Health and Wellness Market 262. Her role is to ensure the successful delivery of clinical services by pharmacists across her market.
A native of Rusk, located in East Texas, Jeanne received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy in 1972 from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She practiced in community pharmacy for seventeen years with ten of those years being in a professional setting before joining Wal-Mart Pharmacy in 1989. She has previously served as a Market Health and Wellness Director and Pharmacy Manager for Wal-Mart.
Her professional memberships include the Texas Pharmacy Association, the American Pharmacist Association, and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). During NABP’s 113th Annual Meeting in May 2017, Mrs. Waggener was installed as the 2017-2018 President. She previously served a one year terms as the NABP President-elect and Treasurer, and a three year term as the District 6 representative on the NABP Executive Committee. In addition, she currently serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Texas State Technical College Pharmacy Technician Program. Previously, she served as a member of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Drug Use Review (DUR) Board. In 2007, Mrs. Waggener received the first annual Wal-Mart Pharmacy’s Outstanding Pharmacist of the Year Award for 2006.
Mrs. Waggener has been very involved in both community and church organizations throughout her career. After seeing the impact that science fair competition had on her son’s life, Mrs. Waggener decided to devote her efforts into ensuring that middle and high school students in grades 6 through 12 would have the same opportunity afforded her son. She became involved with the Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair where she served as Fair Director for many years as well as President of the Board of Trustees. She has also served as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Chairperson of the ExxonMobil Texas and Science Engineering Fair, and was elected as the Chairperson of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) Advisory Council. She has served on the Federation Board of Texas A&M Mothers Clubs and the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Waco. She has also served as the Staff Parish Relations Chairperson at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church in Waco and is currently an Usher Captain.
Mrs. Waggener is married to a dentist, Dr. Tommy Waggener, and has one son, Jay Sartain, a banker with the Royal Bank of Canada in Houston and two grandsons, Jack and Holt.
