Emergency Temporary Licensure & Registration

    Pharmacists — Emergency Temporary Licensure

      To qualify for an emergency license for a pharmacist, you must be currently licensed as a pharmacist in another US state or territory and in good standing. Regardless of application submission and date of issuance, the temporary emergency license will expire on February 28, 2022 and is not renewable.


      How to Register
        Apply

        Pharmacist applying for the Emergency Temporary License with Texas must obtain an NABP Passport. Individuals can learn more and obtain an NABP Emergency Passport here: https://nabp.pharmacy/nabp-emergency-passport-program-hurricane-ida/

        Please note, your license information must be up to date including expiration date and license status. Licensure information will be reviewed and approved by NABP and will be sent to the Board for review and issuance of the temporary license.

        NABP will notify TSBP if you are eligible for the Temporary Emergency License/Registration. If you are eligible, you will be notified from TSBP in writing.

        To register, click the "Apply" button below and register for an online account. If you previously had an account, log in with your username and password. After logging in, select “Texas State Board of Pharmacy” for the application, and “Initial Temporary RPH”. Complete the online application.

    Pharmacy Technicians — Emergency Temporary Registration

      To qualify for an emergency registration for a pharmacy technician, you must meet the following requirements:

      1. You must hold an active pharmacy technician license in your state that is in good standing; and
      2. You must hold an active status with either PTCB or NHA as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician.

      Regardless of application submission and date of issuance, the temporary emergency registration will expire on February 28, 2022 and is not renewable.
