Julie Spier of Katy is the Director of Pharmacy Operations for the Southern division of Albertsons, Randalls, and Tom Thumb, where she oversees 158 locations in Texas,
Louisiana and Arkansas. Through the years with Randalls, she has served in the capacity of pharmacist, pharmacy manager, regional pharmacy manager, and patient care services pharmacy manager in addition to her current title.

Her dedication to the profession of pharmacy can also be seen in her service through various groups. She has been a member of the Texas Federation of Drug Stores since 2007, where in addition to serving on the board, she has served as president, secretary/treasurer, and vice president. Through the Federation she served on the Texas Pharmacy Congress and the Pharmacy Summit for 4 years. She is a member of the Texas Pharmacy Association, American Leadership Forum Med Class 5, and the University of Houston Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC), which she has twice chaired. In addition to the DAC, she has done various lectures for the University of Houston College of Pharmacy for over 25 years. She has served on 3 prior board task forces including two for technicians and one for USP <800>.

She believes in being a servant leader and giving back to the community. Ms. Spier is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America serving at the troop, district, and council levels in various capacities. She currently serves as the council chair for her church.

Ms. Spier received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Sam Houston State University and a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.

She has been married to her husband Derek (retired Houston police Sargent and currently AP Government teacher at Cinco Ranch High School) for 35 years. They have 2 sons who are both married and have 2 beautiful granddaughters.
