Dr. Randy Martin of Fort Worth, is System Director of Medication Safety and Ambulatory Pharmacy Services at Texas Health Resources. In his professional role, Dr. Martin leads change initiatives, develops proactive error prevention strategies, and fosters a culture of safety throughout the THR health-system.  He also holds a faculty appointment as Associate Professor of Medication Education at Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine. Dr. Martin is nationally recognized as an expert in medication safety and has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles in the fields of pharmacy practice and education. His previous leadership experience includes Director of Pharmacy, Innovation, and Ambulatory Clinics at Texas Health Alliance Hospital, Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the UNT System College of Pharmacy, and Senior Fellow at the Texas Institute of Patient Safety.

Dr. Martin is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and former President of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP).  He previously served on the TSHP Board of Directors, Texas Pharmacy Congress, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ House of Delegates.

Dr. Martin received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center and Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University at Shreveport. He also holds board certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), Sterile Compounding (BCSCP), and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).

He is a native Texan and spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with his family.
