BOARD TASK FORCE
The Texas State Board of Pharmacy has established a task force
to study non-resident pharmacies and pharmacy automation. The task force will then make
recommendations to the Board concerning these issues. Appointees to the task force
represent the pharmacy profession and other groups or organizations whose members can
bring a particular expertise to these issues. The expertise and vision of these members is
extremely important to the Board as it strives to develop recom-mendations which will both
benefit and protect the public. The Task Force on Non-Resident Pharmacies and Phar-macy
Automation is charged:
(1) to develop recommendations for rules to regulate Class E (Non-Resident) pharmacies;
(2) to review current requirements and make recommendations concerning the use of
automation in pharmacy practice;
(3) to present recommendations to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
The following task force was appointed by Board President Oren Peacock, R.Ph.
