Technician Application Options | Previously or Currently Registered
You indicated that you were previously registered with TSBP, which means you are eligible for the pharmacy technician application. Let's determine where you are in the process.
Do you hold an active certification from one of the approved national pharmacy technician certification boards (PTCB or NHA)?
Yes.
If you have taken and passed an approved national certification exam, are nationally certified with PTCB or NHA, and that national certification is NOT expired, you may apply for Texas pharmacy technician registration. Visit our website here for detailed information about the process and to start your application.
No.
National certification is required before registering with TSBP as a pharmacy technician. If you have not taken and passed an approved national certification exam OR if a previous national certification has expired and is no longer renewable, you will need to do so before applying for a Texas pharmacy technician registration. Do not begin the Texas pharmacy technician application process until you are nationally certified. Since you have indicated you were previously registered with TSBP, you are NOT eligible for the pharmacy technician trainee application.
I don't know.
If you are not sure whether you have approved national certification, you will need to check with PTCB and/or NHA to determine if you have a national certification, and if so, what your certification status is. You can find their websites as follows:
PTCB | ptcb.org
NHA | nhanow.com
